Julia’s hair makeover for the perfect date night!
For those of us who have been to Korea, stepping into the elegant Leekaja salon at Mandarin Gallery on Orchard would seem reminiscent of our time there. From the moment one is warmly greeted at the entrance to the time one steps out of the salon, their service is impeccable and extremely thoughtful.
The day I went, I decided to have my hair cut, coloured and styled for a date night-worthy look and I’ll be sharing my experience with you guys in this post.
First, treatment serum was applied and gently massaged into my scalp.

My hairstylist Aileen then set to work applying the dye on my tresses – I chose a vivid brown this time round. Over the course of our conversation then, I learnt that most of the salon’s hairstylists are Korean and have several years of local and international experience between them. So despite Leekaja being a relatively new presence in Singapore, you can be assured of their expertise in this field.

A relaxing hair wash later, my hair was given a blow-dry, then styled with loose waves and I was pretty much all set for the night!

Something I really appreciated throughout the entire process was how my stylist, before each step of the hairstyling process, checked with me if my hair was set at the exact length and color I wanted it to be, which was very professional. Not to mention, Aileen and her salon manager Mijoo also gave a ton of helpful suggestions regarding styles which would be more suitable for my face shape and hair type when I couldn’t quite decide at the beginning.
For those who are interested in how long a treatment like this would take, the entire process took 2.5 hours for me and I left for my dinner date in Ion (which was just a couple minutes away) at the end of the session really glad with how my fresh new look turned out!

Not to mention, it really complemented the midnight blue Verina Lace Skater dress that I received from Opulence Label, and put together a look that was overall really soft and feminine for a great night out at ION Orchard’s Salt Grill and Sky Bar. The restaurant, of course, did not disappoint with its intimate and alluring ambience and quality food. Perfect environment for a date night if you ask me, and do remember to reserve a spot if you’re headed there for dinner!
